Summer + travel + making good food choices do not mix. Am I right? I’m just going to leave it at that.
I feel like we are losing some momentum with the #cbdiet. STAY WITH ME, LADIES. Remember why we started! Don’t give up! If you need encouragement, reach out. Tweet or comment or even email. We’re all in this together. We can do it!
- Weigh-in: I’m down about 3-4 pounds from my starting weight, depending on when I weigh myself. At about half a pound a week, this is going to take a long time, but I’ve heard that slow weight loss is the best weight loss. Instead of dropping it all at once and gaining it right back (something I’ve done many times), I’m developing a long-term, realistic plan. I can live with that.
- Exercise completed: Three good runs. It’s definitely getting easier. Also, school starts on the 20th, and I’m going to take a peek at the new schedule for classes at the gym. Fingers crossed there are more options for yoga and/or Pilates classes.
- Splurge/Guilty Pleasure: There were quite a few splurges that went on this weekend during Sister River Trip 2012. I’m not going to list them all, but I will say that I was proud of myself for (mostly) stopping when I was full. Even when there was still pizza in the box or Pringles in the can.
- Success story: Michael signed me up for a 5K in a couple of weeks. I’m not thrilled to pieces about the actual event, but it will be good to have something to force me keep running, to prepare me so I don’t pass out on race day (which, despite training, might still happen — just saying).
- Recipes/photos: Molly left this note on the mirror on Sunday morning. I believe it speaks for itself.

Thanks for stopping by my spot :) I know what you mean about loosing momentum. As I wrote my post last night, I was thinking that maybe it was time for me to step back from the blog for now – with school starting. But I’ll keep going – even if it means I’ve got to post early or late :) I rarely have time to comment on other’s posts – but I’ll try!
So glad you are back to running. I missed some exercise due to school starting again and I really felt the difference :)

Slow and steady wins the race! A slow loss IS a sustainable loss.
I’m also so excited for your 5K! I’ve got to do one before next March so maybe actually scheduling one and registering for it will be the kick I need to make it happen.
And that picture is my favorite. : )
Tabaitha says:
I agree, it’s hard not to splurge when you are on a summer vacation. Excited to hear about the 5K!
Jess says:
Seriously, thank you! You have inspired me. I’m so proud of my self control too! I am a grazer and if we have good food in the house, I’m gonna eat it. But I’ve been good about stopping when I’m full. YAY! Thank you!!
AmberDawn says:
I just love you!!! I’m gonna start doing pilates too! Hopefully it’s on the schedule and fits with yours.
Wish we lived near each other and could do a class together!
You’re doing such a good job Lauren. Even if the progress is slow, you’re still going somewhere!

I still really love this idea. I’ve yet to join in but I’m thinking maybe soon would be a good time. And I’ve been craving all healthy foods lately so I might as well embrace it haha

I’m still on my “healthy/weightloss” journey too, although I don’t blog about it I definitely follow your #cbdiet. I love your long term plan, I recently told my husband that I HAD to do a short term “1/2 grapefruit, 1 can of tuna with a slice of dry toast, 2 cups of coffee and one filet of fish” a day diet to fit into a bridesmaid dress that was made “slightly” too small. But of course he told me that I couldn’t eat that much tuna in a week because of the mercury and that he’d create a healthier plan for me. I’m thankful for his healthy thinking but nervous about whether or not I’ll have to resort to buying a girdle to fit into this dress lol!
Jill says:
I’ve definitely been losing momentum…and I’m sorry! The food is definitely where I suck at this the most! Ugh
