Wow, three memes in one week! For a girl who claims she hates memes, that’s sure a lot. Does it make a difference that I invented two of them? Okay, like 1.5 of them?
Onward.
1 >> My parents stopped in for a quick visit (they were passing through Lafayette) on Wednesday, and we went to a local place to try an infamous Louisiana dish, the Plate Lunch. Apparently, here in Acadiana, you can go into almost anywhere around lunchtime and get a big ol’ plate of hot food for a very reasonable price. We went to Pat’s Downtown and were served crawfish étouffée over fried catfish, with cold mashed potato salad, a small green salad, and pudding. It was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
I didn’t take a photo because I was too busy stuffing my face. But my friend Sophie, who is from here, had texted me this photo after she had lunch there earlier that day. As my dad said when we were trying to decide where to eat, after we saw the photo, “Decision made.”
2 >> I posted this photo of myself yesterday to commemorate the first time I’ve done my hair in I don’t even know how long. It’s been so hot and humid I’ve just been wearing it in a knot on top of my head.
Someone asked me what my necklace said, so I took this photo:
One of my best friends from college, Shelly, gave me and two other friends these necklaces right before she and her new husband left for Germany in summer of 2008 (he’s Air Force). Four years later, I still wear my necklace and think about my precious friends. Shelly is in the process of moving back to the states right now, and although I know she loved her time in Europe, I can’t wait to have her back in the US, because hopefully that means I will see her more often! Anyway, it was nice to think back on sweet friends and good times.
3 >> Speaking of Things That Are Amazing, one of my blog besties, Molly, has an adorable kiddo, Jack. Well, Jack got glasses yesterday, and then my head exploded from The Cute. Seriously, I cannot handle it.
4 >> And now that we’re speaking of Things That Are Really Cute, my dogs.

What made the clock worth $400?! I mean it’s cute and all but it is most definetitly NOT $400 worth of cute. Maybe this is why I don’t thrift much?
