// 5 things in a corner of my living room
1 >> Michael and I have been walking the dogs together almost every evening. It’s a way to unwind, get out of the house, spend time together, and get some exercise. Leia needs a lot of exercise or she turns into, how do you say it? Oh yeah, CUJO. Last night, we decided to walk to a nearby frozen yogurt place for a treat. It was pretty hot, even at 7:30, but we braved it anyway. After walking for nearly 20 minutes, we arrived at our destination, only to find it was closed. So we walked another 15 minutes or so to an ice cream place down the road. The dogs were panting like crazy, so I got them a cup of water, but Michael decided they needed a little strawberry ice cream. Hey, if everyone else can post videos of their babies, I can post a video of my dogs eating ice cream.

I justified the ice cream with the hour of walking in the heat. They totally canceled each other out, right?
2 >> I know it feels like I’ve been talking about the #cbdiet all week (because I have), but I just wanted to say that I’ve really enjoyed creating it, am completely overwhelmed by the positive response I’ve received, and am looking forward to where it goes in the next few months. I love that we’re all in it together and everyone has their own story. We can do this!
3 >> One of my freelance clients, Maria, is a Houston-based image consultant and life coach who also does closet assessments, personal shopping, custom-designed accessories, and garment repairs. Back in April, she gave away a $50 gift certificate to her online store, which I mentioned in a 5TOAF post. Maria is currently doing another giveaway, this time for a pair of GORGEOUS Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses. Seriously, I am so sad I can’t enter this giveaway. But you can. Enter to win here via Facebook. The sunglasses come with everything pictured and are valued at $250. Giveaway ends 6/30, so enter now!

4 >> Last weekend, I unpacked the last of the boxes. THE LAST OF THE BOXES. Small things still need to be done, like hanging a few more pictures and curtains, but the only room left to finish setting up is my office. I’m on the lookout for a work table and possibly some shelving. We’re going thrifting and/or garage sale-ing this weekend. It was Michael’s idea since he knows I love it so much, but he keeps jokingly complaining about going. He thinks he hates it, but then I pointed out to him that as much he loves Pawn Stars and Storage Wars, he might enjoy it and find some weird treasures. That seemed to interest him. I think I might be able to convert him yet. Which would be awesome, since thrifting/vintage shopping is one of my greatest joys IN LIFE.
5 >> I’m looking for a new iPhone case. I’m rough on my phone, so thin cases and “skins” don’t cut it. My last two cases have been the Speck Candy Shell, which I really like, but the bottom part has cracked both times. I’d like it to be cute + protective. Does that exist? I was looking for one with Texas on it but I can’t find one that doesn’t look cheesy. Bonus points if you find a non-cheesy Texas one or if I can customize it.

It looks like there might be some good ones here: http://www.zazzle.com/state+of+texas+iphone+cases

I have the Speck pixelskin HD for my iphone and I love it – it’s a soft case but holds it’s shape (I have had some cheaper cases that barely stay on the phone). It’s only block coloured though so no Texas references for you. I think you can design your own on Society6 but I’ve heard mixed reviews of how well the prints wear. Or you can chance it on this one on etsy http://www.etsy.com/listing/98177337/iphone-4-case-rubber-cover-texas-flag?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=iphone+cover+texas&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_includes%5B0%5D=tags&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=iphone+cover+texas&ga_includes%5B%5D=tags

You can customize otter boxes too!

I have lived in my house for 3 years and still have pictures and curtains to hang. I need to acquire them first! sheesh! Good luck thrifting/yardsaling/goodwilling this weekend :)
