1. Yesterday I put a little work into the sidebar of my blog. Let me know if you see anything that’s not working. Since I have no background whatsoever in design, I was pretty proud of myself for the Twitter and Pinterest buttons. Also, I now have a button for LfT, if you care to add it to your blog. Exciting!
2. Last night, I was craving cake. Specifically, chocolate cake. I almost made cake in a mug, but then Michael said that if I made the cream cheese frosting I used for the Red Velvet cake I made for Christmas, he would join me in the baking goodness. So I found a recipe for chocolate cupcakes (it’s actually the Pioneer Woman’s) and cut it in half (and didn’t use the chocolate kisses or cherries), then used the same recipe for cream cheese frosting but cut it in 1/3. The result was very delicious. It made about eight cupcakes, so above you see the leftover five. Which of us ate two? I’ll never tell.
3. Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, I can hardly believe it. 2011 is nearly over! For the first time in the history of our marriage (and in the history of my life), we have fancy NYE plans. I’m excited to ring in the new year with good friends.
4. One of my gifts for Christmas was a curling wand. I’ve only used it once, and it took me a lot longer than normal to curl my hair, probably because I didn’t quite have the hang of it. I loved the result though: big, soft, natural waves. Do any of you have curling wands? Do you have any tips or tricks you’d like to share?
5. I am friends with one of the owners of a local bridal shop, and they are participating in two bridal shows in the near future. She was looking for models, so I volunteered. The other day, I went in for a fitting so she could choose which dresses I will be wearing in the shows. It was so fun to try on the beautiful gowns! I’m looking forward to being a “model”; the dresses she chose are so fun! Maybe I can sneak my phone into the shows and Instagram a few.

Your side bar looks great! Congrats on mastering buttons. I don’t know anything about them so you are certainly a lot farther than I will ever be. You might already know this, but I can never read the first part of your titles for your blogs. Maybe it has something to do with you writing/formatting on a mac and I am viewing with a pc?
