My friend, Sarah, is pretty awesome. Besides having a giant adorable dog (see English bulldog in above photo), she loves my blog so much, she created a Facebook page for it. She’s vying for the position of PR representative for LfT, and since she’s the only contender as of yet (and probably ever), I think she’s hired. I hope she’s okay if her paychecks come in the form of pretzels and Cheez-its. You see, Sarah and I also work together, and I’ve been known to pass snacks her way from time to time (like, every day). I guess you could say she owes me.
The other night, Michael was gone, so Sarah took the opportunity to come over with a Little Caesar’s $5 pizza (we keep it classy). I contributed a bottle of wine called “Sensual Malbec” (which cost $4.45 at the local Kroger; I told you we keep it classy) and we watched Julie & Julia. Actually, we watched our dogs play while Julie & Julia played in the background.
This was Eddie and Leia’s first time to meet. They did this for 3 hours straight. I’m not sure if this means they love each other or want to kill each other. I was getting mixed signals.
As we were lounging around with our super classy wine and pizza, Pancho was perched on the top of the couch, avoiding all contact with Eddie and Leia. I believe wholeheartedly that Pancho thinks he is human, or at least somewhere between human and dog status, like a human-dog, and is therefore too good to play with the other dog-dogs. Anyway, Sarah looked over and said something that Michael has been saying for the last 3.5 years: “Pancho looks like the dragon from NeverEnding Story.”
It was really weird, because I had never heard ANYONE but Michael say that. I don’t know if it was the Sensual Malbec talking, but we googled some photos of the dragon, and I had to admit, the resemblance was there.

And so, because I’m an English major and I like tidy endings to stories, even if they are just blog posts, here are the conclusions you may draw from this rather scattered post:
1. You should “like” Lauren from Texas, even if I occasionally write posts that bash Facebook.
2. Sarah is a good friend, and her dog is adorable.
3. Cheez-its are a legit form of currency.
4. Leave a comment and let me know if you agree with Sarah and Michael that Pancho does, in fact, look like the dragon from NeverEnding Story.
5. Go to Kroger and buy up all the bottles of Sensual Malbec you can find. That stuff is good.

Comments on This post is sort of random, but mostly about dogs.
From Amanda:
Sensual Malbec? I’ve been looking for a good cheap wine to drink straight from the bottle while I sit in the bathtub and cry about not having a job. Does it have a replaceable cap? It’s important because if not, I’ll just stick with my 40 oz.
Pancho DOES look like a close cousin to the Dragon from TNES.
Also, tell Sarah I’m going to dog-nap her dog. He’s mine.
From Marlena:
I can’t decide which aspect of this post I like the most. Contenders: 1) that there is actually a wine called Sensual Malbec (what’s Malbec anyway…and what makes it sensual?) 2) Leia’s giant hunk of man love OR 3) the NeverEnding Story reference. He DOES favor said dragon. Crazy times we’re living in!
From SP:
You’ve got your very own little Falcor there. I must say I always wanted a luck dragon of my own.
From Sarah:
I don’t know which made my day more….
The super sweet shout-outs (holla!) or Marlena describing Eddie as a “giant hunk of man love” :)
From Nicolah:
Pancho does resemble the dragon. Lol. That’s cute though.
From rachieannie:
I so want an English bulldog!! They are just awesome.
From Abigail @ Skywaitress:
Pancho definitely does have that dragon quality about him. I think it’s the mouth. Their bottom lip does the same smiley pout thing.
From mandy:
Pancho sort of look like the dragon! So cute. Making a mental note to check out that wine.
From Sensibly Sassy:
Sarah’s dog IS adorable oh mah gah!
From Helga:
Pancho is adorable! And I agree, he kinda looks like Falkor… but cuter.
