{l-r: Julie & Corlene at my wedding}
When I got married 3.5 years ago, I had six bridesmaids. Two of those precious girls have decided to get married this summer, about a month apart. Guess who’s going to be jet-setting and brides-maiding all over the place come June and July? LfT, that’s who.

Wedding number 1 is my BFF Julie. Julie and I met right before our 13th birthdays, when I needed a friend the most. We were inseparable until college came around and she left me to pursue her dreams in Chicago, but it’s okay, I’m not bitter (anymore). Julie is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and loyal until the end; I’m so blessed that we have managed to stay in touch, and am excited to be MOH in her special day.

Wedding number two is my dear friend Corlene. Corlene and I met when I was 18 at a small private school we were both attending. We overlooked each others’ accents in favor of becoming attached at the hip, and despite the many miles and International Boundary between us, we have managed to stay that way, albeit long distance. When we get together, there’s so much laughing.

For Julie’s wedding, she let us pick our own dresses. I chose this dress from Forever21. It’s going to be a fairly casual wedding with an outdoor reception, and I wanted to be comfortable while still having a dress that was soft and romantic. I’m thinking without the wild necklaces and some pretty metallic flat sandals, it will be just the thing.
For Corlene’s wedding, she chose these sweet apple-colored dresses. Don’t you just want to have afternoon tea while wearing this dress? Since it might be chilly, I’m looking for a white pashmina wrap, as well as some simple white heels.
I’m so excited to see these girls and watch them walk down the aisle to the men they’re going to marry. The best part? BOTH of their fiances are named Ryan! If I get anything between the two weddings mixed up, it certainly won’t be the groom’s name.
Are you in any weddings this summer? Any tips for a traveling, back-to-back b-maid? Do share! <3

From Leanne:
Hopefully you get a chance when you’re up here in Alberta to spend some time in the mountains. July is hot here (but not as hot as Texas, that’s for sure). Prepare yourself for long, gorgeous summer days — the sun is up until at least 11 p.m., and pack your eye mask if you want to sleep in past 4 a.m.

Hi Lauren,
Sounds like you are going to have a fun summer! I will be going to 2 weddings (so far) this year, but I won’t be IN the weddings. The first one is June 11th and it is one of my co-workers that I have known since she was a little girl. (makes me feel old, lol) The second one is in Oct. and that is my step-daughter. Her dad and I are excited, but we are freaking out a little at the cost of a wedding these days! We got married 4 years ago for $1800 and it will be thousands more for hers. But this is her first (and last) wedding and she is excited. It will be an outside “autumn” wedding and the fall colors should be beautiful. She is getting married next to a beautiful river. Pray the weather will be nice! Have fun and be careful jetsetting to all the weddings this summer! Love you!

What a fun way to spend some time this summer. I think those dresses are gorgeous. I dont have any friends getting married this summer but next year will be a year of weddings.
From Suburban Sweetheart:
I love weddingsssss. I’m going to a few this summer, but I’m not in any again until next spring, thank goodness. Last year’s weddings were a little pricey for me! Have fun. :)
From Kara:
Other than my own wedding (EEE!), I’ll be in my BFF’s wedding in mid-August. I get to wear a a horrid long, cherry red dress with white piping. Oh well!
I’m also going to a friend’s wedding in July, but have no idea what I’m going to wear.
I love that big flower of the green dress! It’s too perfect.
From Stephany:
Aw, my first bridesmaids dress was the exact same color as the second dress.
It’s so much fun to be in a wedding, although I’ve never had to travel for one so I don’t envy you for that reason. :) But I am going to be in my brother’s wedding next year so I have that to look forward to!
From Amber from Girl with the Red Hair:
FUN! I love the first dress you picked! Very pretty.
Where in Alberta are you going?? Hopefully somewhere pretty :)
I have only been a bridesmaid once and it was INCREDIBLY stressful. I am doing everything in my power not to be a bridezilla in the slightest for my wedding next summer!
