Perhaps you remember my blog friend Chelsea. I’ve only mentioned her 9,675 times here on LfT. She is awesome for a lot of reasons, and one of those reasons is that her parents have an amazing home in Galveston, and they let us have a girls weekend there every year. Another reason is because she lets me send her hypochondriacal emails regarding my many illness, real and imagined, but I digress.
Chelsea is tall (5’12″ – yes, that’s a real height), and has two tall friends, Lyndsey and Kelly. Last year, they were kind enough to invite me along on their girls weekend. (Click here to read last year’s post.) Since I am pretty tall myself (5’10″), our group has been dubbed The Glamazons. Recently, we have made a new addition to The Glamazons: Molly. While Molly isn’t as tall as the rest of us, she’s certainly adorable. We decided that what she doesn’t have in height, she makes up for in funny. Lyndsey couldn’t make it this year, and was sorely missed, but we tried to have fun in such a way that would make her proud. I think we succeeded.

Amazing things happen when The Glamazons get together, such as:
We eat eggs with every meal. We are especially fond of them on our burgers.
Guys yell at us from their cars, to which Chelsea replies, “I AM A MOTHER!”
When Molly and I talk about how she’s never had crawfish EVER IN HER LIFE (horror of horrors) on the way to the grocery store, Kroger is magically having a crawfish boil in front of the store when we get there. Guess who got to try crawfish? Free of charge, might I add? It pays to be a Glamazon.

Guys pull their chairs up to our table and tell us to order margaritas, to which I say “You need to leave” and Chelsea says “I can’t have margaritas; I’m breastfeeding.”
Waiters dump whole glasses of ice water in Molly’s lap, to which she replies, “It’s okay, it feels good on my legs.” Her legs were, of course, sunburned, but the awkward 17-year-old waiter had no way of knowing that.
We talk and talk and talk until the wee hours of the morning.
We drink Mimosas and Summer Beer.
We formulate inside jokes that are funny for the rest of the weekend, and possibly for the rest of eternity.

I am so blessed to have these girls in my life. This trip was exactly what I needed, and I’m already counting the days until next Glamazon Weekend.

Comments on It’s not easy being a Glamazon.
From Molly:
Ahhhhh, I want to go back!!!!
PS can I please steal all of these pictures for my glamazon post? Pretty please??
From Jessica:
5’12″ is absolutely a real height. As is 5′ 12″ and 1/2.
From Ali:
I love all of the things that happened here. Especially the, “I can’t, I’m breastfeeding”. Dude, I love making people feel awkward. Thats pretty bad, huh?
From Abby:
I have to say, I am jealous of the bond you share with these ladies. I wish I had some girls in my life that didn’t drive me insane and I could do things like this with.
I’m 5’2″ so I wouldn’t fit into the Glamazon tribe though! Lol.
SIDENOTE OF IMPORTANCE: I am moving back to the ville in June, let me know if you ever want to make a Shenasty’s trip (just sayin)
From Mary:
I would enjoy Chelsea. She speaks to the point.
From Heather:
Hey! I’m 5’12 too! This post really made me smile. I love how much fun ya’ll are having!
From Chelsea:
Posting mine tomorrow. :)
You make me happy. I’m so happy to have such wonderful girls in my life.
From Jill:
Omg I’m so jealous of this post for a number of reasons…the beach, your sunburn (I know), the nail polish, the margaritas…the glamozian-ness (I’m 5’3…not happenin)
From Manderz:
What a fun weekend. You are so very lucky to have such a great group of girls as friends.
From CookinwVictoria:
Hahaha Chelsea is HILARIOUS!!!! That is so funny that she would say that to people lol It sounds like you had an amazing time with the Glamazons!!!
I also need to have my husband try crawfish, he has never had crawfish! I have had a few of them, not many but a few. They are Mini lobsters!!!! :)
From Suburban Sweetheart:
I’ve never had crawfish, either. I think that for a northerner, this is quite normal…
From Deia:
Looks like you had a bunch of fun…
I’ve never tried crawfish, but it looks delicious.
From Stephany:
Ah, sounds like such a fun weekend! And, OMG, Chelsea’s comments cracked me up. :)
From Julie:
1. I love the name Glamazons! It sounds like something that should be put on a jersey or t-shirt.
2. Jealous that the Glamazons are even capable of being sunburned at this time of year. I am still wearing a jacket every day :(
3. Did something happen when you got your new website going? I no longer get the e-mail updates when you post something new! What do I do to fix it?!?!
4. Love you!! I’m still going to see you in 34 days right??
