Stuff My Husband Says v.02

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! Sorry for my disappearance as of late. I’ve been working long days and just discovered Monk and Desperate Housewives (don’t judge) on Netflix. After an 11 hour day in heels, sometimes collapsing with a hot cup of tea is the only thing I can do. I’ll try to be a better blogger, promise.

Since love is in the air today, I thought I’d treat y’all to a few things my husband has been saying lately. Enjoy.

Pregnant friend: My stomach is so itchy! I need to use my tummy butter.
Michael: Is that like real butter?

Michael: You’re like the sheep!
Me: What?
Michael: You know, the boy with the sheep!
Me: You mean “the boy who cried wolf”?
Michael: Yes. That.

Michael: That person scrowled at me.
Me: What the heck is “scrowl”?
Michael: You know. Like a scowl. And a growl.
Me: That’s not a real word.
Michael: Okay, Miss English Major. Other people don’t know that.
Michael’s brother: Pretty sure I’m not an English major and I know that SCROWL isn’t a word.

Me: (surveying cereal cabinet) We have too much cereal. But I don’t like Life. It gets soggy.
Michael: I told you, Life sucks.

Me: I’m going to a new doctor tomorrow.
Michael: Who?
Me: Dr. [name].
Michael: I think he’s in my bike club. Ask him if he rides bikes.
Me: Okay.
Michael: Tell him you know me.
Me: I KNOW you? Or I’m MARRIED to you?
Michael: Yeah, whichever.

Michael made me the most wonderful chocolate mousse on Friday night as part of my Valentine’s Day gift. Throughout the day, I got several texts, which included:

“WHAT is a double boiler?”
“What does it mean, ‘beat until soft peaks form’?!”
“Wow. I had no idea that heavy cream turns to whipped cream.”
