Bluebirds & good things.

After being gone all week, I was glad to pull into the driveway of the little rent house last night & know I don’t have to go anywhere but local places for the next 3ish weeks. All this driving & being displaced has really started to take its toll on me. I feel a bit like a vagabond, & I’m ready for a normal routine. More than anything, I want (& desperately need) to settle in: to my new home, my new town, my new life. And that’s exactly what I plan to do.

How about some good things?

  • Seeing tiny seedlings (are they called seedlings? sprouts?) of basil coming up in one of my Four Little Pots! And I only planted them last Sunday. Those little leaves are spunky, I tell you.
  • Tan lines, faint as they may be.
  • Lovely new friends.
  • Plotting & planning bloggy things.
  • Zac Brown Band.
  • Having my husband and dogs in one place, with me.
  • A late night Sonic run with Cio & a Skype date with Kayleigh.
  • As a result of a tragedy, realizing how short life is & that every second counts, & holding tight to loved ones.
  • Seeing how far I’ve come as a result of the work I’ve done in therapy.
  • Setting goals for myself for becoming the woman I want to be, & then actually working to achieve them.
  • My husband getting me a “wife pass” for the college gym, so I can get involved in yoga & spin classes.
  • Phone calls with my sister, where we talk about anything from The Hills to husbands to upcoming weekend trips.
  • Cold Shiner Bock.
  • Weekends. Need I say more?

This weekend, I think I’ll do a whole lot of nothing, catch up on my sleep, go to the Farmers Market, sunbathe, write, & scheme up some summer recipes. What are your plans?

Aw, I love this so much – new friends and tan lines and working hard to be who you want to be, all that AND fresh basil? Sounds like life is starting to settle out and feel more summery and less like a moving whirlwind. <3

I plan to sleep in, go to Ikea for ONE $14 item, maybe put away baby clothes, maybe work on Jansen’s scrapbook, maybe cook some food, maybe go see a movie, maybe get my hair cut. I DON’T KNOW! Too many decisions. Work really gets in the way of my life.

This post made ME happy! :) I hovered over your “lovely new friends” links and saw that one of my real-life bffs (jimaie) is in there. Funny! She really is a lovely one.

    Have a happy weekend!

…and now i’m craving sonic’s chili cheese tots.

love your happy list! it’s nice to think about the good things. sometimes we just focus too much on the bad, stressful things and let the good ones go unnoticed.

Aww what a cute welcome mat!

We are heading to a Red Sox game and packing up our house. We are moving into our new house next month and have to get everything together!

I definitely think settling into your home will make you more connected with it and not feel so foreign and want to escape.
And I just tweeted about spin class! I’ve never been. I wish we could go together :(

I have seedlings (or whatever you call them!) in two of my Four Little Pots! I haven’t been so excited since I planted a geranium for my mom for mother’s day in first grade! This weekend I’m heading to Calgary to visit with my family who I haven’t seen in over a year :D Hope you have a good one!

Aaaa! This post made me smile! I feel so honored that you would link to my blog b/c I just adore you, lady!
You know what else I adore?! THIS FREAKING DOORMAT. I neeeeeed it, for reals. Is it from Target? If my husband was reading this right now there would be some hardcore eye rolling b/c he thinks doormats are so pointless and since I bought one earlier this year the fact that i want to buy another would blow his mind…but there isn’t one in front of our back door! Excuse found.
Besides, cute things make me smile and if something make me happy it’s worth it right? ;)
i would now like a shiner bock please.
