Monday really snuck up on me. This weekend was spent tackling my to-do list (I crossed off all but 1 item! Next up: CONQUERING THE WORLD), & before I knew it I was all, “Hello Monday. So nice to see you again. NOT.” Because Monday morning Lauren is totally a Jr. Higher who needs an attitude adjustment.
Exciting things are happening over here, & I’m happy to share a few of them with you. Last week (aside from the blogiversary/giveaway goodness) was pretty stressful & I had a bit of a meltdown on Saturday, but I’m better now & have much higher hopes for the week/month ahead. Don’t cross me, May. Anyway, here are the high points (in bullet point form, of course):
- We have a contract on our house! As of April 28th, which means it took exactly one month from listing it on March 28th to get the contract. We didn’t expect this to be so quick! We’re set to close on May 28th (honestly, is 28 my new lucky number?), fingers crossed & lots of prayers that everything goes through.
- I got my KitchenAid mixer! I went over to Stephanie’s house yesterday & picked it up, and WOW is it beautiful. Love at first sight, I tell you. Here I am happily clutching my new toy. Isn’t Stephanie the prettiest? Hot mama! Thanks for the mixer Stephanie, I’ll be bringing some baked goods over to your house in the near future.

I’m already planning my next kitchen scheme around this lipstick red color.
- New blog design coming soon! Kapachino‘s brotherĀ David has been working to build the perfect little home for LFT. Shouldn’t be too much longer; stay tuned!
- We have some winners! I was happy to announce Katherine (not to be confused with my sister) as the winner for my first giveaway, and here are the other two winners:
For the Thirteenwinks print:
# 50 = rachelheather!

For the Hugs & Kisses Designs custom silhouette:
# 30 = Andee Nero!

Congratulations! I’ll be emailing y’all shortly to set you up with your loot.
Big thanks to everyone who entered & sent blogiversary wishes/comments/tweets. If you didn’t see me singing happy birthday to my blog whilst lighting a Cookie Monster cupcake on fire, you can watch it here.
Also, thanks again to the amazing crafty ladies who sponsored the giveaways:
Carla @ Thirteenwinks (Note: She just added new prints to her shop. SWOON!)
Rebecca @ Hugs & Kisses Designs

And just in case any of you clicked on my site link up there, Lauren has specifically requested “excessive amounts of extraneous blood” and to make her look “like a vampiress” in the new design.

You look fantastic with your new lover, lol!
Red is my favorite color for kitchen appliances!
Suburban Sweetheart says:
Congrats on the new mixer AND the house contract! The mixer is so snazzy, and as always, you’re the cutest! Looking forward to the new blog design. And future giveaways that I will surely win. (No complaints, though, as I just won candles from someone else… INTERNET SWAG SCORE.)
Lacey Bean says:
Enjoy your mixer! I just used mine for the first time last week and I’m in LOVE!!!
rachelheather says:
I’m so excited…I never win anything! Thanks so much!
Stephany says:
Oh, that mixer looks fantastic. I really want one of those and how awesome someone just GAVE it to you!
Kathleen says:
I can’t wait to see your new design! Also, does this mean that you will be moving as soon as your house closes? Bleeehhh
Stephanie says:
Ok after the little chat with your mother in law yesterday AND all of your readers going bananas over it….I want it back! Just Kidding! Only if it came with a good looking guy to teach me what to do with it. Just Kidding again! Thanks for the sweet Hot Mama comment. You are precious!
Jill says:
Oh hooray for the mixer! I have a red Kitchen Aid too. Unfortunately, it has never been put to work. SOON :)
Kyla Roma says:
Oh! A mini-meltdown doesn’t sound good- but it sounds like a mixer would definitely help even things out =) Can’t wait to see the new design, and congratulations on your house! Real Estate in the US is so different- here we close on the same day that offers are put in! I love hearing about how things are done where you are… as long as they go smoothly *gives the universe a serious look*
Elizabeth says:
Good luck with the move–closing is so exciting! That’s a beautiful blender, really. We had to leave ours (old, white, from the 70s but in amazing condition–those machines are gold) in Texas when we moved. I kinda miss it.
Nora says:
so jealous of the kitchen aid mixer. Seriously.
I’ve always wanted one. May have to go out and buy myself one soon :)
Fingers crossed the house stuff goes well for you guys!!!
