Posting will be light this week, as I have a work conference that will take up the better part of the week. I just wanted to pound out a quick update, to let y’all know whats going on in my part of the world.
Friday I met up with a photographer friend & my little sister Hannah & had a Trash the Dress photoshoot, another one of my 95 in 1095. I’m so excited to see the pictures! We drove out to Lake Livingston, which was kind of a hike, but I think the end result will be worth it. I’ll be blogging pictures as soon as I get my hands on them!
The rest of the weekend was perfection. I cleaned my house from top-to-bottom, which is always a task but feels so amazing when it’s done. Michael & I went to dinner & a movie (Date Night with Steve Carell & Tina Fey, which was pretty funny), and somewhere between smuggling in gummy bears & laughing about how creepy movie theater bathrooms are, I realized for the millionth time how happy I am that this is the man I live with, and am basically moving across the state with. It makes everything seem a little less scary, to know that no matter what else changes, we won’t. Sunday I relaxed, napped (I haven’t napped in months! Woke up to a puddle of drool & everything), read (Cleaving), & discovered the addiction that is pretzels with Nutella. We spent the evening outside grilling, eating dinner on our back porch, & dancing to the song we danced to at our wedding (Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban). We finished off the night with ice cream & a cheesy Tyler Perry movie, because really, what is better?
Also it needs to be said that my husband made a “cheese & fruit plate” to go with our wine Sunday night, and the cheeses included Italian Rustico & American. As in, he opened some Kraft singles, tore them up, & stacked the pieces on the plate. I really couldn’t stop laughing.
Crappy iPhone pic = PROOF.
I’m trying to get back into the swing of working out, following the few days I’ve taken off after finishing the Shred. I ran yesterday for the first time in awhile, & although it hurt, it felt good too. We’re eating better as a whole, much of which I attribute to the warmer weather and therefore the desire to eat fresher foods (and fewer pasta dishes & cheesy casseroles).
We had an offer on our house, but it was for $10K under asking price, they wanted us to pay $5400 in closing costs, and they wanted to keep the kitchen island my mother custom-built for me. Um, no. So we countered & haven’t heard from them since. As I told the realtor, “We’re not desperate yet.” Although, talk to me a in a few months when we are.
Well, it’s not much, but it’s an update! I leave you now with the most hysterical YouTube video I’ve seen in quite some time. I cannot. stop. quoting. it.
I want to know everything that you’re doing & I don’t want you to act like I’m being annoying I just want you to answer all of my questions.

Comments on I actually digested a huge gust of wind.
From saucyredhead:
Isn’t that the best feeling ever? To look at someone and know that no matter what happens in your life as long as you can count on going to bed and waking up to that person that everything else will work out all right? I’m so happy to have found that and I wish it for everyone that I know and care about. Oh yeah as for what I’m doing right now, I’m trying to get my body in shape for a bikini and my house in shape for my roommate/landlord’s return :)
From Stefanie:
Congrats on the offer! The right one will come soon enough. That video was hilarious!
From Holly:
I’ve been feeling that way about my husband lately too ~ that I’m happy he’s the one I’m doing life with, and that even though our lives are about to change in big ways, we’ll get through it together :) I love that Keith Urban song (I love Keith Urban, period!) but Nathan wouldn’t allow country music at our wedding. The buttwad. Though now he sings Taylor Swift songs, all on his own :P
From Tara:
That video was hilarious! I can’t wait to show it to my husband tonight.
From Amy --- Just A Titch:
I love that he used American cheese. That sounds like something my boyfriend would do. Love it.
You two are too cute for words, by the way.
From Kara:
OMG – I laughed so hard at the Kraft Singles! At least it’s not crackers and Cheese Whiz? It’s the thought that counts!
From Joanna:
The Kraft Singles is the most delightfully adorable thing I’ve ever seen!!
And pretzels with nutella? I’m on my way to my pantry now!!!
And LASTLY…. One of my goals is to lose a bunch of weight, get my wedding dress re-altered DOWN & have a hot trash the dress photo shoot. Because really, what good is it doing in my mom’s closet?
From kayleigh:
words can’t describe how happy i am to find out the mystery of ‘don’t test these besties’ and the even bigger happiness that came from watching this.
From Suburban Sweetheart:
Hope to someday find that kind of best-friend love. You’re a lucky lady. Plus cheese.
From Heather:
What a romantic evening! Sounds like a great weekend. ;-)
From Marlena:
This made me smile. I feel the same about Carl. He’s always been that person for me, since the confusing age of 13. I can’t believe it took me eight years to be like HELLO, PERFECT FOR YOU, PARTY OF CARL! At least I did. I am cracking up with Michael’s cheese plate. I need to write you back on FB, stat.
P.S. I hope you don’t get that desperate with your house. We are right now with the TN house and it is so far from fun times.
From Erin:
OH, MICHAEL!!!! That is hilarious. Sounds like my ideal weekend… Minus the cleaning. :) Love you!
From Sara:
I can complete relate to what you just said about moving with him. I’m about to do the same in a couple month with my man of nearly five years. Except it’s gonna be such a huge change (moving from NY to CA, what?!). I’m totally nervous about it and when people ask me about how I feel, I really don’t know what to say, but when my man and I talk about it, I feel totally alright with it, because I know we will be okay together. :)
Now I’m craving for Nutella. Mmm
From Mommypotamus:
We have our house on the market, too. It’s a pain to keep super-clean with busy schedules and all, but I can’t wait until we get the right offer! Yay for moving on!
From steph anne:
But it’s a good thing you’re getting offers because that means people want to buy it. :) Hopefully another offer will come in soon that you can accept.
