I’ve decided to start doing this “Currently” survey about once a month, to document my least & most favorite things of the moment. That way, when I am eighty, I’ll be able to look back and see what I liked when I was 23. You know, assuming The Internet still exists.
Current Book(s): Baby Proof by Emily Giffin. Yes, I have a degree in English and still I read chick lit. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Current Playlist: Pandora Radio. I will TOTALLY pay the 99 cents after the 40 hour mark (which I hit about mid-month) for unlimited listening the rest of the month. I know a few people who won’t. WHY?! It costs more to buy a Coke! And Pandora is so much more refreshing.
Current Shame-Inducing Guilty Pleasure: Candlelight bubble baths with soft music and a cup of tea. I know, I’m so cliche it’s painful… but it feels SO GOOD.
[via]
Current Color: Gray. My gray Coach Garnet bag. Gray Mary Janes from last fall. Gray dress from Target. Gray is my new black.
Current Fetish: A fetish is something creepy, right? Here’s something: I LOVE to let Pancho lick my feet while I watch TV. Michael freaks out when he does it to him, and tells him to stop, but I let him lick to his heart’s content. I TOLD YOU I WAS CREEPY.
Current Drink: Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon – it’s smooth and spicy and the perfect end to an evening. Oh yeah, and cheap.
Current Food: I made this for dinner tonight: Sausage Potato Casserole – SO good. Very savory. I also made some fried apples to go with it – gala apples, sliced, pan-fried with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. A hearty fall meal. With a healthy dose of fattening.

Current Favorite Show: The Office & THE BIGGEST LOSER. As Chelsea said earlier, “The only good thing about Monday is that you are ONE DAY away from Biggest Loser.”
Current Wishlist: A new camera. All of my pictures are taken with either my iPhone or one of my MacBooks. I am in desperate need of a real camera.
Current Needs: My wisdom teeth to be removed. WHAT A COINCIDENCE; I’m going under the knife on Friday! Although I am pretty nervous, it can’t be any worse than my ER visit, right? RIGHT??
[via]
Current Triumphs: Continuing my workout regime, even though swimsuit season is in my rear view mirror.
Current Bane(s) of my Existence: There never seems to be enough time in the day.
Current Celebrity Crush: The other day, I saw this picture of Gwen Stefani and my love for her was reignited. PLEASE can I be this hot when I have a baby? Please?
[via]
Current Indulgence: I bought a Jell-O No-Bake Peanut Butter Cup Dessert last time I was at the grocery store, and I fully intend to make it tomorrow night. And maybe eat the whole thing myself.
Current #1 Blessing: My friends, who keep me sane. Thank you for letting me vent on the phone for an hour and a half. Thank you for taking me to a late movie or trip to IKEA. Thank you for emailing me several times a day, just to be funny. Y’all know who you are, and I love you.
Current Slang or Saying: “I’ll tell you when you’re older.” You can pretty much bypass sharing any uncomfortable information with the use of this phrase.
Current Outfit: Anything I can wear with leggings.
[via]
Current Excitement: One of my best friends in the world, Shelly, is coming home for a visit next month. She’s a military wife and currently resides in Germany, which makes having regular Girls Nights a little difficult. She’ll be here for a few weeks, and I can’t wait to shop, catch up, and drink coffee with her.
Current Mood: Sleepy. Relaxed. Full of potatoes and sausage and apples. Happy.
Current Link: Postcards From Yo Momma. YOU’RE WELCOME.

Comments on Currently – The October Edition
From Sarah:
I still need to get my wisdom teeth out. I’m hoping to get it done in January once I have some leave time again. Yuck. I hate the thought of even using 1 hour of leave to get my wisdom teeth out. Anyway, good luck!
Also, do you let your dogs “give kisses” all over your face? I used to be grossed out by that, but after getting Beni, I think it’s the sweetest thing ever.
Last question – what part of Germany is Shelly in? (If she doesn’t mind me asking…)
From sarah:
such a good idea! i can barely remember what i did yesterday… the 80 year old me will need a reminder.
i like your casserole… hmmm… maybe i should give it a go.
<3 gray, gwen, bubblebaths, well written chicklit
licky dogs
From mandy:
We had this discussion via twitter about Pandora last week. If I hit the mark half way through the month I would pay for it too. Two days before the start of a new month, I’ll suffer for a day or two. =)
I really enjoy these “Currently” posts from a few other bloggers as well. I didn’t realize you had an Enlgish degree, I do too (and sometimes chick lit is the only way to go).
From Chelsea:
I KNOW 99 cents isn’t much. I just needed some time to process the idea of paying for something that I previously received for free. I had this dilemma with bottled water as well. I’ll come around.
Bubble bath with wine and a good book. Yes please.
I want a gray dress. Help me find one.
I wish I could come take care of you this weekend and make nasty meals in the blender for you. Stock your freezer with ice cream and give Michael my phone number for culinary emergencies.
From Kathleen:
I absolutely love it when my dog Cleo licks my feet, and in fact I encourage her to do so. She gets really into it sometimes.
That sausage potato casserole looks delicious. I am now plotting out when I will have time to make it.
I can’t wait to get my wisdom teeth removed because they hurt me intermittently. But up until my last dentist visit they have been coming in straight. All of a sudden they turned, but I still don’t need to worry about them quite yet unless they cause me too much pain.
From sarah:
I am blogging to keep up with the trend of sarahs on here.
I’ll be honest, I was a little creeped out by the dog thing. I can’t even handle my mom’s dog licking flip flops. But you made up for it with your other answers. (I know you were worried about my opinion).
From Kelly:
Good luck with the widsom teeth… it’s really not that bad, plus a great excuse to eat ice cream.
A few years ago I picked up “Baby Proof” at the bookstore and my Husband freaked out (just because of the title), so I put it back. I’ve wanted to read it ever since.
From mbowman7:
Ok you’re right the foot thing is creepy…Haha
From Megan:
I NEED to have my wisdom teeth removed.
Fried apples are amazing.
(Also, I borrowed this for my own blog.)
From Kyla Roma:
Good luck with your wisdoms! Just make sure you take all the drugs they give you, I thought I didn’t need them and was terribly, terribly wrong lol
From Polly R:
Good idea!
That postcard is funny.
x
From Nora:
So long as you take the pills they give you post wisdom teeth surgery, you’ll be fine. It’s REALLY not as bad as they say it is, I promise =)
That postcard is pretty fantastic.
From Laura:
“Current Fetish: A fetish is something creepy, right? Here’s something: I LOVE to let Pancho lick my feet while I watch TV. Michael freaks out when he does it to him, and tells him to stop, but I let him lick to his heart’s content. I TOLD YOU I WAS CREEPY.”
Especially when he closes his eyes ;] I totally understand.
And for the wisdom teeth, I think i may have told you before but if you are bleeding a lot if you put a tea bag in there with the rest of the gauze and other things, it should help stop that.
From Jill:
Good luck w/your wisdom teeth! I had a really hard time but my brother’s were a piece of cake! Isn’t Gwen hot…I just read she turned 40!! Too bad I can’t be that hot and fit at freakin 26.
From Joe:
Mmm yeah, that foot licking thing does not float my boat. Maybe it’s a girl thing.
From Kitty:
Oh my poor darling! Wisdom teeth suck. You’ll be ok. The meds were worse then anything else. Just make sure you manage to eat and drink a lot and you’ll be ok. I’ll be thinking about you!
PS: My subscription widget recently crashed, and I lost all of my subscribers. Every last one. Could you please subscribe again? Pretty please? I miss my friends. :(
From steph anne:
Those fried apples look sooo good & yummy!
The thing that sucks about Wednesday is that we’re 6 days away from the next episode of The Biggest Loser.
From Erin:
A. Ewwwwwwwwww I’m totally judging you about Pancho!
B. The countdown is on!! Day after tomorrow, I will be saying a little prayer for you. Michael will take good care of you- be sure to stock up on movies! Just not anything trippy like Fantasia.
C. Fried apples. Made them last night. Devoured them all. The extra stretch mark on my belly thanks you, because you’re to blame for it’s existence.
From Kristin:
T minus 6 hrs and 39 min. until JIM AND PAM FOREVER!!!
From Miss Always Carried Away:
I love grey! and true grey can be a new black! so classy and fancy!
Gwen… Gosh I want to have her figure! ok… maybe I just don’t like that much her six pack! but she does look amazing!!!
and I still wonder how you stay slim! you know potatoes and sausage and apples – you sure, you weren’t born in Poland???
