Currently.

Surveys usually drive me nuts. They are normally comprised of, I don’t know, THE DUMBEST QUESTIONS EVER, not to mention all the typos and misspellings after being passed around so many times. I found this particular survey on someone’s blog awhile back, and actually liked it, so I thought I’d save it for a rainy day. Well, it didn’t rain very much today, but I am running a little dry on creativity, so here you go. Enjoy.

Current Book(s): Reading: Julie & Julia by Julie Powell. Just ordered from Amazon: Winning Results with Google AdWords & Web Analytics: An Hour a Day (Translation: I’m a nerd).

[via]

Can we just talk about how I OWN THAT WHISK?! Someone bought it for me as a wedding gift. Love it.

Current Playlist: The Pandora Radio station I created and have perfected over the past few months. The best part: There’s a Pandora app for the iPhone, so I can take it everywhere with me. And I do!

[via]

Um, that’s not me.

Current Shame-Inducing Guilty Pleasure: White Russians and spending entirely too much time reading blogs. Also, adverbs, in case you absentmindedly haven’t noticed.

Current Color: Black Cherry Chutney (nail color by OPI), and the Tangerine KitchenAid Artisan mixer (that’s a color, right?).

Current Fetish:

fetish |ˈfeti sh |
noun
an inanimate object worshiped for its supposed magical powers orbecause it is considered to be inhabited by a spirit.
• a course of action to which one has an excessive and irrational commitment : he had a fetish for writing more opinions each year than any other justice.
• a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to anabnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc. : Victorian men developed fetishes focusing on feet, shoes, and boots.

Hmm. Maybe my current fetish is now the word “fetish.” So broad (pun intended)!

[Note: DO NOT Google-Image "fetish." Lesson learned.]

Current Drink: Iced coffee, if by “Current Drink” you mean “Your Version of Cocaine.”

Current Food: All the frozen meals in my freezer! Also – celery & peanut butter. Mostly it just makes me feel better about eating shovelfuls of peanut butter. IT’S HEALTHY OK?!

Current Favorite Show: Chopped on the Food Network – it’s addicting! I can happily watch pretty much anything on the Food Network.

[via]

Current Wishlist: Camera, aforementioned KitchenAid mixer, dutch oven, a long list of other items for my kitchen, and some of those Magnetic Poetry word magnets.

[via]

Current Needs: A good night’s sleep, motivation to get through the workday tomorrow, and a hot bath.

[via]

Um, also not me. And definitely not my bathroom. Unfortunately.

Current Triumphs: Completing the 30-Day Shred 4x a week for the last few weeks. I’m not phoning it in! OK, maybe I am a little.

[via]

She is meaner than she looks.

Current Bane(s) of my Existence: Annoying annoying annoying people on Twitter. UNFOLLOW.

Current Celebrity Crush: Amy Adams. Just watched Sunshine Cleaning and while it was kind of depressing, I liked her in the movie. And let’s not forget that she ROCKED Julie & Julia.

[via]

Current Indulgence: Thinking about getting a pedicure soon – I have gone from never getting them to not ever wanting to paint my own toenails again.

Current #1 Blessing: My husband who loves me unconditionally and in spite of my (thousands of) neuroses. He is my rock; he keeps me sane. He’s pretty easy on the eyes, too.

Current Slang or Saying: “DUDE,” “WHATEV,” and anything else I can write in all caps on IM.

Current Outfit: Green Soffe shorts & a wife beater. I looked cuter earlier, but that was 8 work hours, dinner, and a cocktail ago.

Current Excitement: The future. I am not at liberty to elaborate at this current time – but stay tuned!

Current Mood: Tired. Glad tomorrow is Friday.

Current Link: I daily visit: Pandora, WordPress, Twitter, Gmail, Facebook, and a veritable plethora of blogs.

Happy (early) Weekend!

Comments on Currently.

  1. From mandy:

KitchenAids are glorious. I bought mine last November and haven’t looked back. =) You have a great weekend too!

  2. From Tabaitha:

I agree, KitchenAids are the best!

  3. From Samantha:

You made me want to Google-image “fetish.” I restrained myself, however.

    Or not.

I think you should indulge in a pedicure this weekend. :)

  4. From Cio:

I would also like to own poetry word magnets, where can one find them??? I’ve looked everywhere!

Also. I’m a little afraid of Jillian Michaels. I did buy a dvd of hers, but it’s not the 30 day shred…But I also got a cardio disc with Bob. ha.

Also…I noticed that little egg whisk thingy in your kitchen, last time I was there. I thought it was the cutest thing.

    ALSO {last one i promise} I love TOOTHPASTEFORDINNER!

    You’re amazing. : )

  5. From Steve:

    Hello ladies,

Poetry word magnets just eventually devolve into people saying inappropriate things like “Hello ladies”

  6. From Kristin:

    Shredheads unite. Great job buddy!

  7. From John:

Love all the pictures… so apropos! Especially the food network cartoon. LOL

  8. From Kitty:

I really enjoyed that actually. I love all the pictures! Especially the cartoons. :)

  9. From mediumcrazy:

This is where I throw in my two cents for Junebug, if you haven’t already seen it. It’s one of my favorites and Amy Adams is amazing in it!

  10. From Erin:

Yay! A survey that didn’t make me want to shoot myself! I love this. I also love how you are an alchie lately. Jealous!!

  11. From Jacky:

Samantha, i wanted to google it too, just to see! So bad…

Oh, I really want to read Julie & Julia. And see the movie, but I won’t be able to, so I have to satisfy myself with the book. Maybe they’ll have it at the library…I also really want to read The Time Traveler’s Wife. =)

  12. From David:

If you like Amy Adams, go watch “Junebug”. Unbelievable piece of work.

And if you like Iced Coffee, McDonald’s’ vanilla iced coffee is incredible.

  13. From Kari Anne:

Love your list of currents! Found your blog through Daddy Scratches…

  14. From Kelly:

Ah, pedicures are a very wonderful thing. I think I will indulge in that myself this weekend.

And Jillian is a mean lady. Effective, but mean.

  15. From Kyla Roma:

I love your comment about your husband, how he grounds you and is your everything….and is totally hot! lol That’s too cute.

The future you’re looking forward to sounds like it could be awesome! Let us know when you can? =)

  16. From Nora:

I love these; I do them every month as a recap so I can (maybe?) look back at the end of the year and track things like, um, well, I don’t know what, but I like doing them anyway. Yours is much cooler since you add photos though!

Amy Adams does rock. I really enjoyed Sunshine Cleaning.

    Happy Friday!

  17. From AshleyD:

Can we be best friends? With all this talk of the kitchen aid, iced coffee, Julie and Julia, and Pandora, I think it’s meant to be!

  18. From Chelsea Hurst:

I have the Tangerine KitchenAid Mixer. I saw your egg wisk. Are you excited about your future with me?

AshleyD who commented above me – lay off, she’s taken.

  19. From Kathleen:

I really like this survey and I might copy it at some point. I also like Nora’s idea of doing them once a month. Also, I love the name Nora.

I see that a couple people have already recommended “Junebug” and one of them was my brother. We saw it together in the theatre and it’s been dear to our hearts ever since. But have you heard that Amy Adams is kind of mean in real life? I have, but who knows.

What is your Pandora station based on? My favorite station is one I created from Over the Rhine. Also, if you haven’t heard Over the Rhine, you NEED to.

  20. From Blond Duck:

Popped in from SITS to say hi! How do you like the book?

  21. From smile steady:

Found you through Chelsea’s blog, and I just want to know how you found a picture of me in my bathtub?

    (I wish)

    Cute survey!

  22. From bblissful:

Lauren! Lauren! Lauren! So THIS is where you live and create?! I’ve never known you had a blog(and an amazing one at that). And then I stumbled upon your comment on Ryan’s PTPR blog … connected the dots … and voila! I miss you on my blog, Bliss:
    http://blissinimages.wordpress.com/

You left my first-ever comment. In fact, a friend who reads my blog, recently asked: What ever happened to that beautiful and mysterious Lauren From Texas girl?? Well, I’m glad to know you’re living, laughing, and loving at large. YAY!!
    Jacqueline xx

  23. From Sturgmom:

There is nothing- NOTHING- better than a perfected Pandora station. It takes alot of “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” but it is so worth the time!

And can I AMEN your annoying Twitters. 10 tweets in a matter of 20 seconds is OVERKILL, my friend-i-just-unfollowed. (Not speaking about you, specifically. This just really pushes my buttons. I probably need a life. And hey, why I am I not following you? Off to take care of that!)

  24. From Sarah:

your blog cracks me up :)

very jealous that 1. you have the hilariously cool whisk and 2. you were able to complete the shred for the last 4 weeks. INSANE.

Last week when I was busy I unfollowed 4 random people who I didn’t know but had followed me (gotta be kind and do the same, yes?) and it made me feel great. I actually enjoy my twitter more now without them flooding my page with complaints.

I need to see Julie & Julia, I know I’ll love it obsessively.

You have a great weekend as well!

  25. From Joe:

Um, I love Chopped. Ted Allen has come a long way. When the show first started, he was all, “Chefs. Open. Your. Baskets.” He’s much more comfortable on it now, but the show is great, anyway.

Best show on Food Network to me, is Iron Chef America. I can watch it even if I’ve seen the episode before. My DVR is chock full of Iron Chef America.

Newest cooking show I’m getting into is Top Chef. Seems decent so far.

  26. From Mimi:

This is a great survey. I really enjoyed the bathtub picture. I, too, wish it were my bathroom. What a glorious soak that would be. Sorry. I live in a beautiful house… with NO BATHTUBS! I get infatuated at times. Happy Saturday Sharefest!

  27. From Jessica:

I’m thinking…I want one of those eggbert thing whisks.

    Yes. Definitely. Want. One.

And I have no idea why…he just looked really appealing laying there on his side…

  28. From maggie may:

    kitchenaid rocks!

  29. From Samantha:

Hey girl, thanks for the honey tip. :) I’ll definitely try that. I had to take that post down really quick today b/c he said he was going to check out my blog. Couldn’t let him see that! But thanks again for the suggestion!
