Worth a Thousand

My weekend in pictures. Scroll really fast and it’s like a movie! But not really.

I got off work early on Friday, which is always a nice treat after putting in a long week. I called my sister-in-law and we decided to do a little shopping together.

While I was getting ready to go, I found a 3-pack of banana clips in my drawer (I had bought them weekend before last when I was with my little sister - I guess you can take the girl out of the 90′s, but you can’t take the 90′s out of the girl). Here is the finished result:

I had scrunched my (almost) dry hair with a little John Frieda Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray – my hair has a slight natural wave and this is the only product I’ve found that enhances it without making it stiff or “crispy” – love it.

My favorite part about the banana clip was how “messy” it looked – I am a fan of the messy ponytail but sometimes it doesn’t turn out quite right. I also like how my ponytail was longer than usual – as opposed to the traditional ponytail, which (depending on the height) can make your hair look a lot shorter – the banana clip kept a lot of length.

I had someone ask what shade of lipstick I “almost lost” during my Purse Incident. It’s CoverGirl 800 – Honeyplum Glow, and I’ve been wearing it like crazy. I found it in my mom’s purse a couple of weeks ago during a Mother-Daughter-Pedicure Outing, tried it on, and liked it so much she gave it to me. It’s perfect for summer.

I met my sister-in-law and 4-month-old nephew for some shopping, Starbucks, and Cold Stone Creamery (yum!). While my sister was in the dressing rooms, I kept an eye on my nephew, but I had a hard time not munching on his chubby little thighs. He is pure sweetness.

Munchable!!

I mean, HOW COULD YOU NOT HAVE A LITTLE TASTE??

Munchable!!

Seriously.

When I got home, Michael and I hung out on our back porch with the dogs, had a beer (Shiner Blonde) and enjoyed the summer evening.

Summer evening.

The next morning, Michael and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast – it’s not my favorite, but he loves it, so I comply. Hey, as long as I don’t have to cook (or clean up)! After that, we went and bought rocks and flowers for our flower beds. We are determined to win Yard of the Month, DANG IT! I wore a racerback tank top and got a terrible sunburn on my back – right now I am slathered in aloe vera.

Burrrnnnneedddd.

Oh well, happens to me at least once a summer. I’ll wear sunscreen next time (or visit the tanning bed a few times… shh)!

That evening, we went to a graduation party for a close family friend. I got to spend some time with my beautiful sisters.

(Wow, you can really see my sunburn here!)

Sunday we had a nice long nap and went out to my parents’ house – my aunt, uncle, and cousin are visiting from Florida and it was great to see everyone. The best part? We had a crawfish boil! I didn’t take any pictures (it’s hard to mess with a camera when your hands are COVERED in spices, butter, and crawfish) – but I assure you, it was delicious. If you’ve never had crawfish, come on down to Texas and my dad will boil some up for you. His are the best!

It was a great weekend – now it’s back to the grind.

Love.

Me & the husband. I love him.

AHHHH! Is the banana clip back? I used to curl my hair and poof it UP in the banana clip. I was totally styling in the 90s. Today? Let’s just say I don’t wear banana clips anymore.

    Love the lip color!

Are banana clips making a come-back? Seriously, I think I wore them every day in 5th grade… right before I started tight-rolling my jeans. I’d love to see the clips again, the tight-rolls not so much.

Your nephew is too adorable for words. It must have been hard to refrain from gobbling him up completely!

(you were on top of me at SITS roll call today)

Bringing back the banana clip? I say yes! So, was the lipstick originally Mom’s? Kinda weird but totally something I would do. I like how I have the same shirt as you in the sunburn picture… :) And thanks for posting a picture of Hannah and I along with all the baby pictures, no one even noticed us. :P It’s okay, he was cuter anyway. I want to meet him! He’s related to me somehow, right? He’s my sisters, husbands, brothers, son. So that makes him…..? Yeah, I give up.
Love you, see you friday, I hope.
